eXtreme Design (XD) is a framework for pattern based ontology design. The project is manteined by the Semantic Technology Laboratory (STLab, ISTC-CNR) team.
The project was started under the project, which still partly supports its development.
Currently, the development is focused on XD Tools, a tool for support pattern based ontology design.
Follow the project on our list: extremedesign-project@lists.sourceforge.net
The concept of networked ontology is native in XD. The main idea is to provide the user with pattern-based operations, such as specialization, composition, instantiation, according to the guidelines defined in the context of the eXtreme Design methodology. The tool provides a perspective - eXtreme Design - that groups all the user components: the ODP Registry browser and ODP Details view, the XD Selector, and the XD Analyzer. Other components can be activated in several ways within the interface, i.e. the XD Wizards, the ODP Publish dialog, and the XD Annotation dialog.
